Afternoon Pickup Procedures

OVERVIEW

The staff at Madison Elementary School is always seeking to improve our schools learning environment. A major part of that process is making sure that our campus is safe and secure for all of our students. In response to parent and staff concerns, this document is intended to outline the new procedures for parents and students before and after school and bring Madison into alignment with other elementary schools in the Redondo Beach Unified School District.
In order for our new system to be safe, effective and efficient, we respectfully request that parents not approach teachers during dismissal time. During this time, their attention needs to be mindful to the supervision of all students. If you need to speak to the teacher, please check in to the office and the teacher meet you there or a meeting can be arranged.

AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS

Teachers will escort students to the designated program pick up area at the lunch benches where Program teachers will pick up each class themselves. At the end of the session, each program teacher will escort students to the MacKay entrance by the office for pick up by parents. CDC and REC students will return to their respective program at the end of the Enrichment class.

All parents and students are expected to utilize appropriate crosswalks to ensure safety for all during busy and pick up times.

There is absolutely no play allowed on the equipment or the blacktop areas after school. Students are to be picked up and designated locations or attend the CDC, Rec, or Enrichment programs as enrolled.

All school rules apply during all of these programs just as during the school day.

If you are late to pick up your child from valet, walking gate (after 2:40 M/T/TH/F or 1:30 on Wednesdays) or Enrichment, please go to the school office to pick up your child.
