Mrs. Spahn - 4th Grade - Room 13
My name is Drew Spahn, and I am thrilled to say that this is my 7th year of teaching and my 3rd at Madison Elementary. Previously, I taught 6th graders for two years in a self-contained classroom, so I instructed students in all subjects. Last year, I had a 4/5 combo class, which allowed me to loop with a few of my 4th grade students from the year prior, and I loved seeing their growth and seeing them move on to middle school. This year, I am back to working solely with 4th graders and it is my 5th year doing so.
I was born in Vietnam and immigrated with my family to the United States in 1991. I spent most of my life in the San Fernando Valley and recently moved to the South Bay after my husband and I married. I currently live in Torrance with my husband, Chris, my stepson, Collin, who is 13 years old, and our baby girl, Olivia.
I attended Cal State University at Northridge where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Education followed by my teaching credential and a Master of Education with an emphasis on Curriculum and Instruction.
I enjoy cooking, camping and hiking, reading, watching movies and spending time with my family. I am grateful that I get to work with your children this year. Let’s make it a great one.
