Welcome to Kindergarten!

My name is Kristen Roman and I teach Kindergarten here at Madison Elementary in Redondo Beach. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and knew when I was in second grade that I wanted to be a teacher. My younger sister was my very first student!

After graduating from Long Beach State University, I began my teaching career in the Torrance Unified School District teaching fourth and fifth grade. Following this, I received my M.S. in School Counseling, and in addition to teaching at Madison Elementary, served as a school counselor at Beryl Elementary here in Redondo Beach.

In addition to my passion for teaching and learning, I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling to new places. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to spend time with children every day and cherish the ability to witness their joy and excitement as they discover and grow.
