Welcome to Kindergarten!

My name is Kristen Roman and I teach Kindergarten at Madison Elementary in Redondo Beach. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and knew when I was in second grade that I wanted to be a teacher. My younger sister was my very first student!

After graduating from Long Beach State University, I began my teaching career at Hickory Elementary in Torrance teaching fourth and fifth grade. Following this, I spent time teaching, as well as serving as a school counselor, at Beryl Elementary here in Redondo Beach. My Masters degree in School Counseling is from La Verne University.

In addition to my passion for teaching and learning, I enjoy spending time with my husband and teenage son and traveling with my extended family. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to spend time with children every day and cherish the ability to witness their joy and excitement as they discover and grow.
