Madison Morning Milers
*** 2019-20 BEGINS FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 6th ***
Madison Morning Milers is a Madison PTA Sponsored program that encourages children to run or walk laps from 8:00 to 8:15 daily. A growing body of research indicates that regular participation in physical activity is linked to the enhancement of brain function and cognition, thereby positively influencing academic performance.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
To participate in Morning Milers please complete a waiver for your child and return it to the main office or your teacher.
Using Stride Track running club management software, parent volunteers, located near the CDC
bungalows, will track students’ laps using their student ID cards. Kids who walk to school get credit for 2 extra laps!
To access your child’s progress, log into Stride Track,
- Connect to www.stridetrack.com
- Choose login tab, and then choose “Runner Login” in drop down menu.
- In the input box, enter your child’s runner ID
Install the StrideTrack app from App Store or Google Play
In the input box, enter your child’s runner ID.
(Please check your email from Dr. Cash for Runner ID.)
Students earn charms for the number of miles they run (7 laps = 1 mile):
Every 5 miles = 1 foot
25 Miles = Swirl Sneaker
50 Miles = Runner
75 Miles = Gold Sneaker
100 Miles = Medal
New and exciting rewards will go to the class with the most miles run each month*. At the Town Hall Meeting, we will announce the monthly class winner of the Madison Morning Milers Trophy.
* For monthly class awards, miles will be determined by total class miles divided by class size. The Morning Milers Trophy will float to the top classroom monthly.
