Welcome to Room 12
Hello! I am excited to be part of your student's educational career at Madison Elementary School. As a lifelong learner, I love to share my passion for learning new things and productive struggle with my students.
I have been an educator for over twenty years. I have taught a variety of grade levels, starting at kindergarten and all the way to middle school. In the primary grades, the focus is reviewing foundational skills in reading, writing, and math while highlighting students love for different topics, like animals, sports, and books. In addition, young children are learning how to be more independent - tie their shoes, empty their backpacks, and practicing socials skills with their peers.
I believe all children are capable of learning at their own pace. I encourage students to challenge themselves by facilitating a classroom that focuses on growth mindset.
After I leave Madison, I get to go home to my own family of learners - my husband, Bob, is an educator in the Redondo Beach district. I am a mom to two young children, Charlie and Vivian. We love to spend time at the beach and traveling to see family in Washington throughout the year.
