Welcome to TK!
Welcome to TK! I would like to introduce myself. My name is Karrie Carpenter and I teach the a.m. TK class! I started teaching in 2002 at Washington Elementary here in Redondo Beach. I have taught many grades but my heart is here in TK. I am looking forward to another productive and exciting year here at Madison School!
I was born and raised in El Segundo. I received both my bachelor’s degree and teaching credential from CSULB. My husband and I were married in 2006 and we celebrated our anniversary in August. We have 2 beautiful daughters! Our first daughter, Bo, was born in 2009, and our second daughter, Dallas, was born in 2011. With these 2 amazing gifts in our lives, our family is now complete.
It is important to know that the education that your child receives in the classroom is also continued in the home. The partnership between school and home is an essential and crucial part of your child’s year and I encourage you to e-mail me with any questions you may have. I am a big supporter of parents helping in the classroom! There are many ways to volunteer. We will need helpers both in the classroom and also home prep. helpers. There will be a Parent Volunteer meeting in September and I ask that all parents come in order to see the many opportunities that we have for you to be involved.
I am so excited that I am able to teach these young children. They are at such an amazing age and this is such an important job to have, and I thank you for giving me the opportunity to begin your child’s educational journey! I am excited for us to work together to make this an awesome year that your child won’t forget! I can’t wait to see you on the first day of school.
