Welcome to TK PM

Welcome to TK!   I will be your child’s teacher for the upcoming year in transitional kindergarten!  If your child is in TK a.m., your teacher will be Karrie Carpenter, and if your child is in TK p.m., your teacher will be Amber Cammidge.

Mrs. Cammidge has been teaching since 2007.  She started her teaching career with LAUSD, and has been with Redondo since 2014.  She has taught students from all elementary grades, but especially loves working with TK students.  She has a seven-year-old daughter named Fiona, and a 5 year old son named Henry.  She and her husband moved to the South Bay in 2013 and are loving it!

Mrs. Carpenter started teaching in 2002 here in Redondo Beach.  She has taught many grades but her heart is here in TK.  She was born and raised in El Segundo.  She and her husband were married in 2006 and just celebrated their anniversary this month.  She has 2 beautiful daughters!  Her first daughter, Bo, was born in 2009, and her second daughter, Dallas, was born in 2011.  With these 2 amazing gifts in her life, her family is now complete.

It is important to know that the education that your child receives in the classroom is also continued in the home. The partnership between school and home is an essential and crucial part of your child’s year and we encourage you to e-mail us with any questions you may have.   We are big supporters of parents helping in the classroom!  There are many ways to volunteer.  We will need helpers both in the classroom and also home prep. helpers.  There will be a parent volunteer meeting in September and we ask that all parents come in order to see the many opportunities that we have for you to be involved.

We are so excited that we are able to teach these young children.  Their creativity and imaginations flourish at this age and we are looking forward to developing these qualities in a positive and supportive environment. They are at an amazing age, and this is such an important job to have.  We thank you for giving us the opportunity to begin your child’s educational journey.  We are looking forward to working with you to make this an awesome year that your child won’t forget.  We are excited about the upcoming year and can’t wait to see your children on the first day of school
